Book: The Discovery of the Strange Quark

The very first Strange Quark Comic book is now in print! It's called, "The Discovery of the Strange Quark." It contains a bunch of comics, including many that have never been seen on the web page. Some of these exclusive comics are "I Can't Draw" comics, the predecessor to Strange Quark. And a couple of them were too nerdy to put online. If this appeals to you, then click on the image above to buy the book.

Be the first person on your street to get one. This is your last chance to be popular. Carrying one with you to job interviews sends the message that you have great taste and are smart enough to get technical jokes. I could make a list of reasons to buy the book that is a mile long. But I'll stop here - you're not an idiot. You know that you need this book. So I'll stop insulting your intelligence and let you clamor to the checkout page . . . Oh, and tell your friends (if you don't, they'll find out eventually, and then they will hate you for not telling them). I'm not trying to be manipulative, I'm just trying to help you. I mean, you seem so . . . so bitter, clinging to your guns and religion and all . . .

The book is published by a place called Lulu - clicking on the image above will take you there. Or just click here.

Also, because Lulu is a small volume, print on demand publisher, you'll save on printing and shipping if you order more than one book. So make sure you buy one for every bathroom and coffee table in your house. Seriously, though, if you have friends that want one too, you can save a little $$ by ordering together. Also, I purchased a bunch of them, so if you live nearby and are willing to pay me cash in person, while they last I can give you one for $12. Just let me know - you can contact me at sqcomic@gmail.com.

A new comic will be posted in:

Strange Quark News
September 1, 2010: Today is the one-year anniversary of sqcomic.com! Thanks to everyone who has visited. Because, if it weren't for you, it would really be silly for me to post things here, wouldn't it?

August 20, 2010: I'm now making a "Sunday comic" format. See the first one this Sunday!

August 11, 2010: Search bar added!

August 9, 2010: I've finally got the new back end to the web site up! Please, PLEASE let me know if you find any problems. It probably doesn't look much different to you, but trust me, it's slicker. It will make it easier for me to maintain the site and add new things in the future. Plus I've added three cool new features. First, I've added the text to the comics in a little box below the comics. This will allow search engines to index the text, and eventually I will be able to add a search bar to help you find comics based on the text in them. Second, I've added a comic keyword index to help you find comics. Finally, using those keywords, I've put together "keyword rings" to let you quickly navigate through all of the comics about a certain topic. Note that not all of the comics have keywords yet - that will take a little more time.

June 30, 2010: I'm putting together a new web page format. It will be a complete rewrite that should look nicer, work nicer, and be search happy. It's going to take a while, so I decided to put up a partial implementation so that you can enjoy the new look before I get the new back-end written.

March 13, 2010: I've changed the site a tiny bit, and I'm looking for feedback. It seems that some people weren't seeing the latest comics because their browser was using a cached list of availible comics. So I did a little code tweeking that I think will fix the problem. If you had problems with this in the past, please let me know if it is fixed. Also let me know if you haven't had this problem, but are now having it, or if anything else isn't working properly. Thanks!

March 8, 2010: "The Discovery of the Strange Quark" is now in print! Trust me, it's great. Guess what's in it. Comics! Yes, that's right. And they are very funny. It's got Black Widowman, nerds, Darth Vader, a sexy robot with a perfect "cardboard box" figure - 0x78 0x6F 0x78 0x6F (that's xoxo in hexidecimal ascii codes), and pirates. No, wait, there are no pirates. But it does have Deep Blue and the Governator. It's even got some things that you've never seen before. Just click on the image to the left for all of the details.
